I got this book in the middle of a bullying situation with my child, not knowing how to proceed as I have been bullied as a child too. By the first chapter, it all became so vivid that I had to stop reading for a while. Ms. Price described very well, with many facts and examples, what it is like for a child to be victimized and why. Yes, every victim wants to know, WHY and WHY ME..Each subject was right on point. I felt that the way the author presents the book, reflects exactly what needs to be done when a child is being bullied. That is, listening with compasion (opposite to blaming the victim, or blaming the parent for overparenting),validating and gently introduccing the parent/child to the "what/how to " to help the child overcome the experience, look for counseling and when is possible, to exercise resilience. I appreciated very much as well, the experiences that bullied victims families shared with the author . Some of them wish they would have acted earlier, or had followed their gut feeling. That is how I feel about this subject and good part of the advice Ms Price gives, I have done it myself, following my intuition as a parent. After reading it, I feel empowered, validated and prepared to effectively advocate for my kid in any situation. I feel very grateful to the author for taking on this project. Well done.
